I try to understand people and businesses, then build useful things with great experiences — and tell some good stories along the way.

I'm Hoan Do, a product lead at Zalo — Vietnam's most-used messaging app — based in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. I started in UI/UX in Hanoi back in 2012, joined Zalo in 2017, and have spent the last nine years building for Vietnamese people and the businesses that serve them.

Today I lead Core Products inside Zalo Open Platforms — the Official Account and the Mini App + H5 platform. Together they're how a business gets found, talks to its customers, and gets things done without anyone leaving the chat app. Before this I spent six years on storage and backup and two on group messaging, applying AI where it earns its keep and removing things when it doesn't. On the side I make Figma / FigJam widgets and Raycast extensions for product teams, including the OOUX / ORCA widget set and a Vietnamese Calendar extension.

How I work, briefly. Look before judging — a morning watching a shop answer its messages beats an afternoon of roadmap debate. Break a decision down until the branches don't overlap and nothing important is missing, then compare the options side by side against criteria we agreed on before anyone got attached to an answer. Write the uncertainty into the spec instead of pretending it's settled, and label an unvalidated number as one. Across a platform this wide, most of the work is finding the trade the other team also wants.

A note on the side projects: I vibe code them. I'm a product person, not an engineer — these widgets, extensions, and this very site are built with Lovable, Cursor, Claude, and Gemini CLI as my pair. The taste, the problem framing, and the product calls are mine; the syntax mostly isn't.
